Wedding planning can be fun, but when you are pushed into a corner by restaurants and reception halls and wedding planners who want you to choose standard packages that everyone uses, you can sometimes feel like your dream is, well, someone else's dream. Don't waste your money on the same wedding everyone else had at the same reception hall. The hall might be beautiful and the gardens might be lovely, but what is going to make people remember your wedding was unique and memorable? Color! Where? To start with, you chair covers. Bored with white? Fine! How about the bright yellow you've been in love with since kindergarten? Love paisley? Canvas? Velvet? Bring it on!
Obviously, you'll need to be a little creative to do all this since magenta or denim chair covers probably aren't available at your local party supply store. No problem!
Splashes of bright colors are in - so do it up right! Even wedding dresses are being designed in black, purple, gold and bright red. If "your" signature color has been periwinkle since grade school, then why not incorporate that all over your wedding and reception? Flowers, dresses, flowers on the cake, and chair covers can all scream "you" - delicately, of course!
Since you probably won't be finding the chair covers or the accessories you want in magenta - or much else other than white - you can save yourself tons of aggravation and lots of money by making your own. You don't even need complete covers; just make covers for the backs of the chairs.
Add some flowers, ruffles, lace, pearls, or even monograms - make them yours! And they don't even have to match! Then - let everyone take home their chair cover as a souvenir.
